Married Life

Well, it finally happened. We got hitched!!

I realize that I haven't blogged in a while, and at such an important time but we've been pretty busy. Here is the abbreviated version of our last month. Josh rolled into town a week before the wedding and we finished off final details together! A much needed break. On Friday the 22nd we had our "rehearsal" dinner. It was more like a great time for everyone in the party and all the family to spend some quality time together. We had the dinner at Hillcrest (also where the reception was). I worked most that day on the slideshow and it crashed about 2 hours prior to the dinner. I revived most of it, but there were a couple little mishaps in it. The dinner was southern food and Josh's mom added a great touch of South Carolina to it. Saturday morning I got my hair done, did my makeup and headed to the temple. Josh was late. :) Haha. The wedding was amazing!!! Kneeling on the alter across from the love of my life was the best moment I have ever experienced. That day was fantastic. After the wedding we headed outside for pictures. Not too hot, thank goodness. It was still pretty warm in that big dress though. We checked into our hotel and had to be to Hillcrest by 4:30 for formal pictures. The reception started at 6pm. The reception was so much fun. We had the line and said hello to everyone then we cut the cake pretty early on because it was starting to tilt. Lol. The cake topper was a bride and groom and it fell off and the bride was decapitated. :( Yikes! Well, after we broke the line up Josh removed my garter to the mission impossible theme song followed by MC Hammer's can't touch this. After that I threw my bouquet to Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. Keith caught the garter and Amber caught the bouquet. Then we did our first song. We danced to Question by Old 97's. Then we did the dollar dance. It was a contest between Josh and I to see who could get the most money. We did one song and anyone who wanted to dance with us had to pay money. I got $100.25 and Josh got $40. HA! I totally schooled him. :) The rest of the reception we spent dancing and just walking around talking to people. It was a lot of fun.

What a great weekend.

Monday morning we flew out of Portland for FLORIDA!! We were in Key Largo Monday through Friday. It was such a great break from all the hustle and bustle of the wedding. We got in late Monday night, Tuesday we went to Key West and rented a scooter. We spent the whole day driving around and seeing the city. It was really fun. We taped a lot of our trip on the video camera. Wednesday we went parasailing. 1000 feet! After that we spent the rest of the day swimming in the pool and just lounging around on the beach. On Thursday we went on a 2 hour jet ski tour. We went out to a coral reef and snorkeled, went and laid on a sand bar and did some slalom courses. It was a lot of fun. We got pretty bad sunburns that day as well. That unfortunately was not a lot of fun. That night we went to an all-you-can-eat seafood restaurant. Bad choice the day before 2 flights. I puked on both flights on the way home. Also not enjoyable. But we made it back to Washington safe.

We packed up, spent Saturday with the family and drove down to Provo on Sunday. We love our apartment so much!! It's really old so it has a lot of character! Anyways, we're still getting all settled in, in fact, we're just finishing all the painting today. The kitchen was the last room to get painted, bright RED! We love it. Anyways, I promise more info and pictures to come!! Also, there is a new blog coming soon.
